I honestly cannot believe it, but, in three weeks, my beloved friend Heather will be in Ohio. Literally, right now, we’ll be on our way to pick her up from the airport. I’m so excited that I actually want to burst into tears.
We’ve been talking about meeting for at least 3.5 years by now. I honestly can never remember the year we met, as I felt like I’ve known her forever. We’ve been together through the good times and the really, really bad times and we’ve always been there. Always.
I know that, at any given moment, I can call her, or text her or even writing her something on LJ and know she’ll respond somehow with comfort. That’s just the amazing person she is.
In case you are wondering, I decided it was the perfect time for a Heather themed entry as I don’t feel like I talk about her enough.
Yesterday and today, I have been cleaning and making lists of things I need to do before she gets here. I’m down to three weeks, and I’m using all of that to finish my to do list. And it’s one hell of a list.
It includes cleaning, redoing my bookshelf, getting better storage, organization, repainting spots in my room, hanging art work…all things I never had a reason to force myself to do.
I know she and I have talked about doing some things together, including decorating my room.
It’s all been brief, but, hopefully, she’s still game on helping me decorate. I’m actually trying to put back whatever I can so we can make a trip to Hobby Lobby and Target to get picture frames and anything else we find that would go well in my room. ^__^
My favorite part about Heather is that she understands me. I mean, truly. I know Lauren gets me, but I think Heather understands me just a bit more. Nothing against Lauren, it’s nothing she can help, and she most certainly does the best she can to understand the parts she doesn’t. But Heather is just amazing.
(Don’t worry, Larn, you’ll have an entry dedicated to you soon too! ;D) Lauren is my twin and I think Heather is my other half. *nods*
Now, Heather has tagged me for two memes that I’ve kind of neglected to do. *bad Hannah* But I’m doing both of them now.
The HonestScrap award comes with a caveat or two. Firstly, you have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. Secondly, you have to tag 10 people with the award.
1. I am always, always, ALWAYS hidings my emotions from everyone but Jeremy, Lauren and Heather. I do not like to show my weakness and do my best to keep myself looking strong.
2. Every once in a while, I go on a massive cleaning spree. It’ll be midnight or later and all of a sudden, something in my room will bug me and I’ll spend the night cleaning.
3. I’m INCREDIBLY anal. However, I’m not always so. But, when I am, I’m seriously like…to the point where even I piss myself off. hahaha
4. I have this journal that Lauren gave me a few months ago that inspires me to no end. It’s bright pink and simply says “LOVE” on it in white lettering. I obsess over it.
5. I collect picture frames, accidentally. I don’t realize it even though I’ll say it now, I’ll forget next time I buy one. I have 12 currently in my frame of vision. And I easily have another 12 that are photo-less. D:
6. I love to take silly photos and have hoards of them…and never remember to print them off. o_O
7. I’M GETTING A NETBOOK THIS WEEKEND FROM MY BROTHER! WHOO!It’s black and blue. Not my favorite, but, eh, whatever. It’s shiny. And light. And perfectly sized to fit in my purse. *nods*
8. My teeth are insanely sensitive and I forget to brush them a lot. The sensitivity actually has nothing to do with the forgetting to brush too. I can brush my teeth three times a day for months and still have the sensitivity. That causes me to eat less chocolate. *sad face*
9. Speaking of chocolate…I still have a crap ton left over from last Easter. I was way too depressed with my break up from the ass that was my boyfriend and all the drama that ensued after that I only really ate some of the malted milk eggs.
10. I have three copies of Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss. One has a plush Horton in the middle, one is a pop-up and one is tiny and came with a large stuffed Horton. Mother got me 2/3 when I did Seussical and the other for Christmas because I really wanted a stuffed elephant and because I grew up (okay, and still love) loving Dr. Seuss.![]()
The second was a handwriting meme. I’m not going to post the whole deal because everyone I know has already been tagged. XD So here’s my handwriting!
Well, I’m working on more and more things for when Heather arrives here, so, I’m off!
Until later, lovelies!
I’m so thankful for the summer. As much as I love winter, I definitely appreciate the summer time for one reason: being outside. Now, I have always been an indoors gal, as I have an extreme hatred for anything “buggy.” However, since dating my ex-boyfriend, I have grown to really love and appreciate not only being outside, but camping. That person of which I no longer speak of and his family used to go camping a few times during the summer and I was lucky enough to go with them.
Now that that complete and utter loser (and liar!) is out of the picture, I was a bit worried that I would never get to go again. I expressed my concerns to Lauren and the rest of our group and, to my surprise, everyone jumped up and was like, “WE LOVE CAMPING!”
Needless to say, I was on cloud 9.
Since then (that was months ago), our group has easily been together two or three times a week, at the very least, and we play indoors, outdoors, everything. It’s quite crazy, actually. Hence the title “Inside Outside Insanity.”
One of the greatest parts about this is learning new games. The two I have picked up and loved are Ultimate Frisbee and Hobo Golf (also known as Ladder Ball). I believe I’ve mentioned the latter here at some point, regarding Caleb’s open house, but I am more than happy to ramble on about it again. hahaha
Basically, you have two sides and two sets of three rung “ladders,” which are typically made out of PVC pipe or plastic, and six sets of two golf or plastic balls attached with a string. Two people or teams can play at a time and have three sets of the balls. The idea is to toss your balls (is it just me, or does this sound really perverted?) across to the opposite ladder and get them to wrap around and stay with the strings. It’s highly addictive and Lauren and I find ourselves loving it more and more each time we play. After playing it at Caleb’s, Nicole and Zach bought the game, and just a week after that, mother and I got ourselves one. The coolest thing about ours is that it’s collapsible to make it easily portable.
Then…Ultimate Frisbee. Ooh how I love thee! See, on Monday, Lauren, Bre and I were chilling in my basement when I got a text message from Tyler stating that he was bored and wanted to play video games. I ended up planning a get together with Nicole over at her house so we could all game and whatnot. After playing some old school Mario Kart 64 and Perfect Dark (along with some Halo 3 on the side), we went upstairs for a snack. It was just Lauren, Bre, Nicole, Zach, Nicole and Zach’s younger sister, Tyler and myself. Either Lauren or Nicole suggested we go outside, as it was still light, and play for a bit. After Zach, Lauren, Tyler and myself played a round of Hobo Golf, Zach thought it would be fun to play Ultimate Frisbee. And we did. Might I mention that my team, Lauren, Nicole, Zach and myself, dominated the other team 5-0.
Take football, replace the ball with a frisbee, throw in traveling from basketball and enter a rule in that forces you to throw the frisbee to someone in the goal instead of walking in it (which goes along with traveling) and you have Ultimate Frisbee. Insane. Fast. AWESOME.
We hung around their basement after that talking, then Lauren and Bre had to head home. As Tyler and I both don’t really have a curfew, we stayed almost two hours after them (almost 1 am) playing Rock Band with Zach, Nicole and their little sister. It was really fun and I can’t wait to get together with everyone again.
I’m not sure why I wrote this entry so weird, but yes. Life has been like that a lot lately, and I love it.
Until later, lovelies!
(3 Weeks and 4 Days Until Heather Comes to Ohio!)
I don’t think I’ve mentioned yet about my and Lauren’s new view on life. See, we have been spending our live striving for something: school, work, love, theatre, everything. We decided that we’ve spent too much of our younger years working in various ways and we’re going to now be spontaneous and live by the phrase, “I’m just trying to live!”
Honestly? It’s a beautiful thing. I recommend you do it.
For example, the last month I have easily been hanging out with my friends three times a week. Insane and tiring? Absolutely. Amazing? The most blissful thing I have ever done. Before, I would never have done this. I would give them one night a week, maybe give the girls or Lauren one night without the boys and spend the rest of my week relaxing, working on websites and vegging out with my television.
So far, the most spontaneous we’ve been is treating ourselves to purchases and seeing movies, but whatever. It’s still way more than we have ever done. One thing about Lauren and myself is that we never got out. I mean, never. Sure we’d drive to the mall together and Borders, but we’d never go see a movie or go dance in the middle of my old high school’s parking lot. We never would have imagined ourselves doing anything like that!
Matter of fact, yesterday, I decided to go with my gut and met Lauren at her house to go to a car wash for she, Nicole and Bre’s 4H club. No one cared that I wasn’t in 4H. I knew the adults there at least by seeing them at our area’s yearly fair and I had a total ball. Jake showed up an hour in to get his washed, see us and support the 4H and we even got to go eat with him (it was at a local Burger King). After, we got even more spontaneous and decided to have a slumber party at my house (like always because I have the video games and wireless internet!).
We went to sleep at 4. Granted, Lauren was asleep by 3:45, but I decided to stay up the extra 15 minutes and answer the next NameCheap trivia question. To my incredible surprise, I managed to be the first to answer and won! This was the very first question I have one this time around and I’ve been trying crazy hard. Who knew the time I was totally out of it and mildly delirious from lack of sleep I would get it? Messed up, yo!
But yes. If you get the chance to just live life, do it. Please. As happy as I was being a workaholic, I’m even happier now. I’m randomly buying myself small gifts, buying my friends small gifts and am doing everything I can to be a teenager–something I never did. I grew up too fast. I really did. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. I’ve had one hell of a life, but I’m glad I’ve finally given in to being my spontaneous self.
The best part of all of this is Lauren’s spontaneity to ask my mother to buy me a teal iHome. All we have to do is vacuum, mop and dust the house! Totally not a horrible trade off.
And my new iHome saved me from another summer purchase I needed to make. *dances* It was honestly like Christmas.
Lauren should be back over any minute now to clean with me (we parted so we could both shower) and I’m thinking today is going to be great. Especially when I remember that, in a month, Heather will be here with us. That’s the best gift any of us could ever ask for.
Expect major updates on Dottish this summer. I’ve already been doing some massive editing with the mega awesome help from Lauren and I actually wrote a new read yesterday. However, I’m not linking it until I’ve written at least one more.
Yay for goals!
So…until later, lovelies!
I’ve been feeling so insanely creative lately. But it’s weird, usually I’m creative on Photoshop, but, lately, I’ve been wanting to get out paint and brushes. My latest project? A new piece of art for my night stand! See, teh evil ex-boyfriend gave me this drawing two years ago for my birthday and, while I still love it, it’s a daily reminder, so, it needs to go. In place of it, I’m eventually buying myself this pink iPod dock that is relatively small and I’m painting a replica of this (shhhh!! I’m too poor and impatient to buy it!).
Aside from that creativity, I’ve been using Etsy to inspire other future works by the House of Hannah (yes, I’m lame). My mother and I are making a trip to the fabric store some time in the next week to make a semi-pleated skirt for my Hermione Granger costume (see, I said I was lame). I also need to try lifting the sleeves in my Gryffindor sweater to fit my a bit better. See, it fits perfectly everywhere but the sleeves. I wish the website has said the length of the sleeves, as I might have gone down a size and suffered with a semi-tight and shorter sweater.
But the sleeves are inches upon inches longer than my arms. I’m fairly certain that it was made for a guy, which means longer sleeves. Stupid boys, always ruining things for us girls!
I’ve also been writing again! I know I keep mentioning that I want to start again, and I have! I don’t have a lot of time to write, as I’m busy with various website things as well as hanging out with my group of friends, but I have started. I’m taking some major elements from my life, throwing in some sci-fi and writing what looks to me like a novel. I’m not sure how it’ll go yet, but I like what I have so far. It just needs edited as everything I wrote was written at two in the morning. *blinks*
But yes, back to my artistic creativity!
Lauren and I are throwing a Harry Potter party July 15 (the week Heather comes to Ohio!), complete with costumes, favors and plates with Harry’s face on them. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
Right now, she and I are working on favors/gifts for our friends. I have ordered a surprise for each attendee (okay, so there’s only five of us) off of Etsy and Lauren and I will be working on the other surprise probably this next week. They should certainly be fun to make. *nods* I’m also hoping to make another trip to a craft store to pick up some clay to make new radish earrings if someone decides to go as Luna. As I mentioned, I’m going as Hermione and I have my costume almost finished! I just need to find some black flats that work. It’ll be way too hot out for a robe, so I didn’t bother buying one this time around. I’ll get one later in the year for Halloween. (Even though I have a Sally costume from Nightmare Before Christmas to use as well as my Bella costume…)
So yes! I’ve had the last week off of work and what have I done? Come up with ideas for art in my room and my novel. Oh, and lots of ordering online for the HP party. Have I mentioned my addiction to Etsy? I highly recommend it. The sellers I have dealt with are really nice and friendly and the goods are really awesome.
I’m off to check the mail and get a sandwich. I’m starving for some reason!
Later today I get to head to a Burger King nearby for a car wash!
Until later, lovelies!
Today turned out to be so much more fabulous than anything, and I attribute a lot of it to the Juno soundtrack. I’m sure that sounds insane or whatever, but it inspired me and kept my mind off of stressful things and on to more fun and interesting things. If you haven’t heard the soundtrack, I highly recommend it. It’s my favorite ever, even over the Lion King.
The greatest part about mine is that it was burned by my very dear friend, Heather.
As it is a Tuesday, I had work, and I was fully expecting to want to fall asleep the entire time and be bored. To my surprise, I wasn’t at all. I made a few sets of dollhouse stairs, shaved down the bad edges of tiny floor tiles and then cut boxes down to be burned. My personal favorite thing to do was cut the boxes. I’ve always enjoyed stuff like that for some very strange reason. I think it’s the letting the blade kind of guide itself while you cut. It makes neat curves in the cardboard.
In the middle of tearing the cardboard apart, my boss came up to me smiling and said, “Oh, by the way, I forgot. My husband and I will be going away for a month this weekend.” I was like, “Oh. Okay! Not a problem at all, I could really use the break.” While I could really use the money, I’m so excited for my break that I already want to skip to Thursday night to start my vacation. Turns out she’ll only be gone two weeks, but I’m definitely not complaining.
On that note, I have a lot I want to get done on my break. Mostly, writing! As I’ve mentioned before, I have a few projects I’ve been wanting to start and I actually came up with a totally new one today that I’ve decided to work on over everything else. I don’t really want to reveal anything about it right now, as I’m not too sure if it’ll end up being anything, but I was listening to Tree Hugger by Kimya Dawson and Antsy Pants and this sentence popped into my head. It’s already turned into a few paragraphs and plot ideas, so we’ll see.
So aside from that, I have something else to work on during my break: planning a Harry Potter party! As Heather will be making the trip here the week of the Harry Potter movie (WHOO!!!), we have decided to throw a movie bash complete with games, costumes and cosplaying at the movie.
We’re going to the midnight showing (unless they don’t do one, which would be odd and wrong) and making a huge deal out of it. I’m dressing like Hermione, unless I end up cutting my hair and dying it red.
Then, I’ll be forced to do Ginny, though I’m not a big fan of hers. Heather is going as Bellatrix, and she’ll be perfect as she has almost the exact hair as Bella. I’ve got plans to order myself a proper robe this week from Alivan’s and possibly a sweater as well. Then, I’ll simply be missing the skirt, which I’ll be buying next week from JC Penney.
*dances* If you can’t tell, I’m a little excited. But! I must be off to bed. It’ll be too cold to go running tomorrow morning, as I had anticipated, so I’ll be waking up relatively early to start working on various web related projects. I’m trying to get as much done this week so I can spend my vacation reading some novels I’ve been meaning to for a while, as well as get to my writing.
Until later, lovelies!
